Why Certifications Matter
In the pallet industry, certifications are not just paperwork. They are the verifiable proof that a supplier meets specific, measurable standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. When you source pallets from SD Re Pallet, you are partnering with a company that has invested in the processes, training, equipment, and audits required to earn and maintain these credentials.
Whether you need ISPM-15 heat-treated pallets for international shipping, guaranteed-quality pallets for your industry, or assurance that your pallet supplier operates safely and sustainably, our certifications provide the confidence you need.
ISPM-15 Heat Treatment Certification
What Is ISPM-15?
ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15) is a set of guidelines developed by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) to prevent the international transport of plant pests and diseases through wood packaging materials. Any wood pallet or crate used in international trade must comply with ISPM-15 regulations.
Heat Treatment Process
Our ISPM-15 compliance is achieved through heat treatment (HT), the most widely accepted method. Pallets are placed in our industrial kilns and heated to a core temperature of at least 56°C (132.8°F) for a minimum of 30 continuous minutes. This process eliminates insects, larvae, and pathogens without the use of chemicals, making it both effective and environmentally responsible.
Why It Matters
If you export goods internationally, your pallets must be ISPM-15 compliant. Non-compliant shipments can be rejected at the port of entry, quarantined, or destroyed, resulting in costly delays and potential loss of goods. By sourcing ISPM-15 certified pallets from SD Re Pallet, you ensure your shipments clear customs without issue.
The ISPM-15 Stamp
Every heat-treated pallet from our facility bears the official ISPM-15 compliance stamp, which includes the IPPC logo, our country code (US), our unique facility registration number, and the treatment code (HT for heat treatment). This stamp is internationally recognized and verifiable.
Quality Management Standards
Systematic Quality Control
Our quality management system is built around the principles of ISO 9001, emphasizing process consistency, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. While our current operations follow ISO 9001 principles rigorously, we document every inspection, track defect rates, and conduct regular internal audits to ensure our standards never slip.
100% Inspection Policy
Unlike many competitors who rely on statistical sampling, we inspect every single pallet before it leaves our facility. Our QC team verifies dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, grade compliance, and safety. This zero-sampling approach means you can trust that every pallet in your order meets specification, not just a statistical average.
Continuous Improvement
We track and analyze quality data across our operation: defect rates by pallet type, repair durability metrics, customer return rates, and delivery accuracy. This data drives monthly process reviews where we identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions. The result is a quality level that improves year over year.
Environmental Compliance
Zero-Waste Operations
Our facility operates under a verified zero-waste-to-landfill policy. All wood waste is diverted to productive secondary uses: mulch production, animal bedding, biomass energy, or reclaimed wood sales. Metal fasteners are separated and recycled through certified scrap metal processors. We track our diversion rate quarterly and maintain documentation for auditing purposes.
California Environmental Regulations
We comply fully with California's stringent environmental regulations, including CARB (California Air Resources Board) requirements for wood processing operations, SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) emissions standards, and CalRecycle guidelines for wood waste diversion. Our operations are permitted and regularly inspected by local and state environmental agencies.
Sustainable Sourcing
When we purchase new lumber for pallet repair and construction, we prioritize suppliers who practice sustainable forestry. We source from operations that manage their timber stands for long-term productivity and ecological health, not clear-cutting. This commitment extends our sustainability mission beyond our own walls to the broader timber supply chain.
OSHA Safety Standards
Workplace Safety Program
Our comprehensive safety program meets or exceeds all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) requirements for wood processing and material handling operations. This includes written safety plans, regular hazard assessments, and mandatory safety training for all employees.
Employee Training
Every team member completes safety training before working on the floor, with annual refresher courses and ongoing toolbox talks. Training covers forklift operation, power tool safety, fire prevention, first aid, ergonomic lifting techniques, and hazard communication. Certifications are documented and tracked to ensure compliance.
Equipment & Facility Standards
Our facility is equipped with proper ventilation, dust collection systems, fire suppression, emergency lighting, and clearly marked egress routes. Forklifts and power tools are inspected daily before use. Personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and cut-resistant gloves is provided to all employees and required on the production floor.
Incident Tracking
We maintain detailed incident logs and conduct root-cause analysis for any workplace injury or near-miss event. Our safety committee meets monthly to review incident data, identify trends, and implement preventive measures. Our goal is zero workplace injuries, and our safety record consistently outperforms industry averages.
Certified Quality You Can Verify
Our certifications are not just claims on a website. They are backed by physical documentation, regular audits, and inspection records that we are happy to share with any customer upon request.
Need copies of our ISPM-15 certificate, safety records, or quality documentation for your vendor qualification process? Just ask. We believe in full transparency.
