About SD Re Pallet

SD Re Pallet exists to eliminate pallet waste from the Southern California supply chain while delivering superior quality at a lower cost than new pallets. Our mission is built on three pillars: environmental stewardship, economic value, and operational excellence.

Environmental Stewardship:The U.S. disposes of roughly 420 million pallets every year, accounting for an estimated 8–10% of all wood waste in landfills. Each pallet we recycle prevents approximately 25 kg of CO₂ emissions and saves 3.5 board feet of lumber. Across our annual volume, that translates to over 8,400 trees left standing and more than 1,200 metric tons of carbon kept out of the atmosphere. Learn more on our sustainability page.

Economic Value:Recycled pallets cost 30–50% less than brand-new alternatives while delivering identical structural performance. For a warehouse cycling through 5,000 pallets per month, that savings adds up to $30,000–$75,000 annually. We pass those savings directly to our customers, whether they are a local brewery shipping cases or a Fortune 500 distribution hub processing full truckloads daily.

Operational Excellence: Every pallet we sell passes through our rigorous six-stage quality process. We maintain a 100% inspection rate (no sampling), offer same-day delivery on in-stock items, and back everything with our no-questions-asked replacement guarantee. Our certifications verify these commitments at every level.

Local Hiring: Over 90% of our workforce lives within 30 miles of our facility. We offer competitive wages, health benefits, and internal promotion pathways. Many of our current supervisors started on the sorting line.

Community Gardens & Parks: Each year we donate over 500 cubic yards of pallet-derived mulch to community gardens, school campuses, and public parks across San Diego County. This mulch suppresses weeds, retains moisture, and keeps wood out of landfills simultaneously.

Educational Outreach: We host facility tours for high school and community college students interested in sustainability, logistics, and skilled trades. In 2024, we welcomed over 300 students to our yard to see the circular economy in action.

Environmental Cleanups: Our team participates in at least four organized cleanup events per year, including coastal cleanups, river restoration days, and neighborhood beautification projects. We have logged over 800 cumulative volunteer hours since 2019.
